I have got a new printable for you just in time for wrapping those Christmas presents. I used the beautiful traditional PTU kit by Hungry Hill called Candy Crimbo. This kit is so beautiful and has so many unique elements in it that it just has endless possibilities so why don't you go Check out her store ;)

Now on to the freebie--- I have 2 separate download links depending on how you want to print. I used a mailing/address label template to create these so you can print onto that or print onto cardstock and cut out. The PSD is saved in layers with each label on it's own layer and the outline on a separate layer too so you can print one at a time if you want. The PNG version is saved as you see below on a transparent background and ready to print.

*Note--- you may need to adjust your printer margins and/or settings if you print this onto address label paper. Template is compatible with Avery 5160

this is a bottle of silver nail polish i photographed and extracted, they are full size. i created a template layer to change the color of the polish inside the bottle and now i'm offering it to y'all =] inside the zip you will find 12 samples to use, plus the nail polish bottle template so you can create your own color variations. you can use them as bottles of mojo, poison, plain nail polish, whatever you can think up!

feel free to use them however you will, resize, recolor, add to them whatever you like. they are free to use and commercial use ok. my terms of use are very simple and included in the zip.

Just in time for Halloween! this pack has 3 skulls in it, 2 are the same skull photographed at different angles and different lighting. the third is a little skull, but all are full size and large so you can use them for creating a full size kit or making tags=] i did photograph and extract each of them so please let me know if you find a problem with the quality.

feel free to use them however you will, resize, recolor, add to them whatever you like. they are free to use and commercial use ok. my terms of use are very simple and included in the zip.

A new project!

Sarah of Hungry Hill asked me to be part of her creative team and of course I agreed =D She asked me to try making some crafts showcasing her kits being used in a way other than in a normal digital form such as tagging. I said I'd be happy to give it a try.

This is my first project using the Cherry Pie kit, it is a simple card. I wanted to show what could be done with just the kit so I only used buttons and ink from my stash. I printed the papers I wanted out on cardstock. I added the image to the green plaid paper in Photoshop before printing and then printed an extra to cut out. The second picture shows how I cut the word 'Sweet' out and popped it up, I also cut around the end of the spoon and popped it up too. I sewed each layer of paper together using my sewing machine then adhered it to the card backing. =] I love this kit, makes me think of the 50s, so I wanted to keep it simple and show off the gorgeous colors and patterns.

OMG!!! i finally got this kit finished! i have been working on it for 5 months, which is a stupid long time. but i had to take lots of pics of things and then tube them out too.... not to mention i just needed the time and mojo. LoL =D

Hi all, i just wanted to do a quick post to say that i'm still around.... real life has been so busy for me lately and my mojo has been in small supply. BUT i have been working on a kit, it is just taking some time because i have had to take the pictures of so many things then tube them out. not to mention the fact that i feel like this kit still needs something, i just don't know what yet. LoL :D i hope to get it done very soon tho ;)

i also have a few CU items that i want to offer, i just need to get around to it! i don't seem to have enough hours to do everything i want and still find time to relax in front of the TV o.O

Bunny Hop Blogtrain

i was just reading the post made by another designer for one of her freebies saying that she was sick of the rudeness when people don't say thanks and if you don't say it, to never expect any more freebies. Huh? for every 20 downloads i might get one thank you unless it's friends. don't get me wrong i love to hear thank you, makes ya feel good. BUT if no one ever said it i would still make things. who is being hurt because i got mad and quit making things? not anyone who downloads cause they will just go somewhere else. that means i'm only hurting myself and i enjoy making things in my spare time. it kinda irritates me to read a post like her's, because she is being rude in how she comes across to the reader. kinda makes me WANT to download it and not say thanks. i know that's being bitchy but then i never claimed to be nice either. i also don't need my ego stroked by ppl either.

I make what i make because i enjoy tagging and creating digital things. i love to get feed back from everyone if you feel like leaving it. that's all i can ask for. i might not have downloads in the thousands but each time someone does take the time to download something i know they did it cause they liked what they saw. regards of weather or not they actually say thank you.

so, as long as i have spare time and the desire to create there will be free things here =]

Ranting a little...

yeah i'm gonna rant a little... i really hate when people remove freebies from their blog, weather it's a limited time freebie or they just delete it after awhile. why offer it at all if you are going to take it away? i recently found out that a favorite site deleted all of their older freebies. so i emailed and asked if there was any way that they would be offered as i hadn't got to collect them all. the very short non-informative reply was no. i was hoping that they would be bundled together if it was a space issue but i got no other info from the woman.

i offer my things free, granted they may not be as wonderful as some but hey! i also don't buy scrap kits. i can't afford to and some are just way too expensive even if i would like to have them. so i like finding free things and i feel like the person is dangling the carrot in front of my nose then yanking it away when they remove freebies. i'm sorry i came late to the game and didn't download every single thing immediately. i guess i should have and i will start doing that from now on for all things. lesson learned and i hope anyone reading this snags those freebies too cause tomorrow they might not be there.

my freebies will be here as long as my file sharing hosts stay free and nothing happens to those files!

Chinese New Year temp

I made this last night and finished it this morning... i've kicked the idea around since Christmas and even started one but my computer decided to be bitch and froze up. i had to do a hard shut down and couldn't save my work. but i finally got around to redoing it.

The Chinese New Year begins Feb 3, 2011, this year will be the year of the rabbit

i did a search for Chinese new year and i found 2 versions of 'Happy New Year' , one was a traditional version and the other not. Soooo if it doesn't truly say Happy New Year in Chinese i'm sorry! lol

The North Wing Christmas Blog Bake Off Blogtrain

this is a recipe i found a few years ago, i modified it to make a pie but in it's original form it was bars. i hope you like it and find the directions easy to follow=]

the rest of the blog train will be up and running as soon as the others get up all across the world, lol. Don't forget to follow the rest of the train, links are below ;)

this is the only pic i could find and i let it get a little dark and it has LOTS of caramel on top, but it's still yum! lol =]

Caramel Pecan Cheesecake Pie

ingredients

1- 9 oz graham cracker pie crust
1/4 cup chopped pecans
2- 8 oz packages of cream cheese, softened
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup sour cream
1 1/2 Tbsp flour
1/2 Tbsp vanilla extract
2 eggs
1/8 cup caramel topping

directions

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F

1- Beat cream cheese and sugar in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended.

2- Add sour cream, flour and vanilla extract; mix well.

3- Add eggs, 1 at a time, mixing on low speed after each until well blended.

4- Pour over crust.

5- Bake 45 minutes or until center is almost set. Refrigerate 4 hours or overnight.

6- Drizzle with caramel and pecans before serving.

Refrigerate left overs

*tip- about half way through the baking time take pie out and put aluminum foil over edges of crust to prevent it from darkening too much then put back in oven to finish baking

I know, my blog is titled True Taggin' Love and i usually do offer tagging sized stuff here, but when i photograph things i take them in fine quality and large image size, it gives me a better quality of pic. so when i photographed these i decided to leave them at fullsize and offer them here that way. you can of course resize to use for tag making kits etc=]

As the preview says, they are Commercial use ok!! resize, recolor- let your creativity run wild, if you've downloaded from me before you know that i have a very easy TOU=]

i have 2 new CU items for you. as you know by now i make it very easy for you with my CU stuff, it's free and you don't have to credit me if you use it in a kit etc. ALL i ask is that you don't claim it as your own, this holds especially true for the next thing i'm offering here.

first up is my sparrow, i drew this lil birdy by hand, scanned it in, extracted it from the background and then digitally painted it. so if you grab this goody it also has the black outline i began with so you can create away=]

Where have i been you may ask????

well, it's a deep subject,

lol,
i'm in a mood today; but seriously there is a reason i haven't posted anything lately

at the beginning of the month i posted a lil joke over on The North Wing forum about breaking up with my computer as i was spending too much time with it. i was only half joking because i was indeed trying to limit my time on here. but as my bad luck is on such a HOT streak right now of course something went wrong.
(i'll add here that i don't believe in luck as a huge thing good or bad, just that i've had a lot of things going wrong lately)

perhaps a week after the lil joke i powered up like normal and things appeared ok then... i got the blue screen of death!!!

i tried shutting down and rebooting in safe mood as the screen suggested but nothing was working. my windows wouldn't open in any way shape or form. i have twice had to reformat this summer due to trojans infecting my pc. since i'm not a techie this was beyond me, i took it in to a shop in hopes that they could at least recover my pics and such.

no such luck, they tell me that my hard drive is wiped and they had to reinstall windows, nothing to recover. is this the truth, did they even try?? i don't know

what i do know is that i stupidly kept putting off backing my files up. i had saved things back in June and that's it. the things that hurt the most are pics of my kids that i lost cause i hadn't uploaded to any online albums or burned to cd.

of course i lost all my scrap kits, tags, and CU stuff, not counting a bunch of stuff i had made and not gotten uploaded to 4shared to offer here.

a very hard lesson to learn but it has indeed been learned to my regret.

A tutorial for PSE

A friend asked me how to do the masks for tags. I said I would try to come up w/ a tut for her to follow. now this is how I do it and I'm sure there is probably an easier way but... There are lots of screen shots so bear with me and I hope I don't confuse you more!

This tutorial is written for PhotoShop Elements 5 although I'm sure it would work in other versions. It is my own creation and any similarities is a coincidence. You should have a working knowledge of PSE for this tutorial. The mask and paper i am using are for instructional purposes only..

Let's get started; remember if you wanna see the pic full size just click on it

step 1. open the mask you wanna use for your tag

step 2. duplicate the mask **(only if background is black as shown, if it is already white you can skip to step 5)

step 3. make the other invisible by clicking the eye icon as shown in the picture

step 4. convert the visible layer to a negative, you can find the negative as shown

step 5. go to Edit -Define Brush -OK. Your brush is now ready to use

step 6. now open the paper you wish to use for your tag and create a new layer

step 7. select your brush and apply to a new layer,
now hold down the Ctrl and click on the layer thumbnail together- this should give you little marching ants around the brush

step 8. change the opacity of the new layer to 0% and merge down

step 9. go to Layer - New - Layer via Copy

step 10. now click the eye icon to make the original layer invisible and you are done and ready to use the mask

Hopefully I've not confused you even more, lol. If you need clarification just ask!

I did it! i finally made a kit that isn't for any challenge, just to post here for all of you, lol :) Ignore the crappy preview for the elements it was 2 am and i was beyond tired.

Yes as you can see it is a bone theme, I love skulls and skeletons so i went ahead and used some of my own CU stuff to make a kit. Hope y'all like and hope there is enough variety for all your tag making needs :)
